Scope of Works
Construction of approximately 2.9km OD300mm uPVC sewers, 29km OD250mm uPVC sewers for, 8km OD250mm additional lateral sewers and 223 No. manholes, Construction of 450 household connections, Rehabilitation of existing Limuru WWTP comprising the installation of new 4nr jet aerators. 2nr bridge scrapers for settling tanks, modification of screw pump chambers, new waste activated and return sludge pumps 2, Construction of faecal station, interception chamber, grit chamber, and installation of modern automatic screen, Construction and equipping of 2nr oxidation ditches, 4nr settling tanks, submersible pump chamber with 2nr each of waste and return sludge pumps, construction of sludge drying beds, construction of sludge thickener, and Maturation ponds, Drilling of 6No boreholes complete with 48m³ elevated steel tanks, Construction of 25km of water distribution pipelines (diameters 50 and 160mm) for water supply from, and Karanjee distribution pipelines, Construction of 3No. Ablution blocks.

Improve the reliability of water services and sanitation, Raise the overall level of public health in the beneficiary cities, Strengthen the water service providers' operational and maintenance capacity.
Key Challenges
Delayed fulfilment of contractual precedent contidions to commencement, approval for works alnong and accross road reserves, submission of all relevant documentation by the client at the design review stage
Remarks
There should be regular inspection along the pipelines to identify leakages at early stages. Also there should be increased support to area WSP to be able to address the issue on vandalism.
