Kipkaren- Chekiit Water Supply Scheme: (i)Construction of intake weir, Construction of 5200M3/day water treatment plant, (ii)Construction of 750M3 cumulative storage tanks, (iii) Construction of 33 Km Long Pipeline. Kapkei Water Supply Scheme: (iv) Development of 1 No Spring, Construction of 3,200M3/day water treatment plant, (v)Construction of 600M3 cumulative storage tanks, (vi) Construction of 23 Km Long Pipeline.
Impacts
Reduction in waterborne diseases due to access to clean water and improved sanitation, leading to better overall health and reduced healthcare costs. Increased school attendance especially for girls as they spend less time collecting water and managing sanitation needs. Access to clean water and sanitation will increase productivity in the workforce, leading to improved livelihoods and economic growth, women and girls often bear the burden of collecting water, so improved water access will empower them and provide more time for other activities
