Rehabilitation of Asega Dam

(i)Construction of a new embankment. (ii)Construction of a new spillway of capacity 9m3/second to replace the existing spillway. (iii)Construction of a fence all-round the reservoir to prevent free access of people and animals. (iv)Construction of a pipe and a control valve to provide a minimum environmental flow of 20l/s.

Reduction in waterborne diseases due to access to clean water and improved sanitation, leading to better overall health and reduced healthcare costs. Increased school attendance especially for girls as they spend less time collecting water and managing sanitation needs. Access to clean water and sanitation will increase productivity in the workforce, leading to improved livelihoods and economic growth, women and girls often bear the burden of collecting water, so improved water access will empower them and provide more time for other activities
